Beverly Osachoff

Beverly Osachoff has a passion for herbal medicines, acupuncture, and the human spirit. She is a graduate of the five-year Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) program at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson, BC, and currently is a registered acupuncturist in both BC and Alberta and a registered TCM herbalist in BC.

Beverly encourages a multi-disciplinary approach to wellness and collaboration with health professionals of all disciplines to ensure you get the best care possible. She uses gentle classical acupuncture and personalized herbal medicines in modern forms to fit your busy lifestyle. All products have passed thorough screening processes to ensure they are free of heavy metals, molds, and other contaminants as well as to ensure correct plant identification. No endangered species or animal products are used and safety is paramount. Organic raw herbs are also available for those who desire a more traditional experience. Various massage techniques, cupping, gentle exercises, dietary advice, and other methods may be employed during your course of treatment with Beverly.

Young children may receive “happy needle” treatments - an excellent non-invasive way to introduce babies and toddlers to the benefits of acupuncture. Kids tolerate acupuncture very well and look forward to regular treatments.

With her research work focused on the systemic effects of trauma and trauma-induced illnesses such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), people suffering acute injury or recovering from trauma are regulars in the clinic. Recognizing how a traumatic event may injure one’s spirit as well as one’s body is a key part of creating an effective treatment plan that respects each individual’s unique beliefs and personal needs.

Beverly has worked with a number of competitive athletes, including runners, triathletes, snowboarders, speed skaters, baseball players, hockey players, kayakers, and cyclists. Many of her patients are students, office workers, nurses, and executives who use acupuncture and herbs to stay sharp, reduce stress, and simply keep on top of their game. Previous work in the spa industry has made her appreciative of ambiance and comfort, and she makes every effort to ensure that your treatments are both comfortable and enjoyable.

Acupuncture and herbal treatments are useful for helping injuries heal quicker while minimizing scar tissue, pain, and functional impairment. They are prescribed to treat a number of maladies, including insomnia, pain, gout, night sweats, digestive issues, menstrual irregularities, emotional distress, itchy skin, night terrors, acne, eczema, and psoriasis to name a few.

Gynecology is a cornerstone of our TCM practice, and Beverly sees women of all ages for a variety of women’s issues. She is sensitive and informative – the end product of being a cancer and menopause survivor herself. Beverly enjoys working with teens and young women struggling with menstrual irregularities. She has a unique understanding of menopause-related issues, including managing the sudden, intense discomforts of chemotherapy-induced or surgically-induced menopause. Men’s sexual health issues, and both male and female infertility are also commonly treated in the clinic, responding well to herbs and acupuncture.

Beverly
is highly skilled in cosmetic acupuncture, which helps tone sagging skin and diminishes fine lines to make you look fresher and more vibrant. She also has had excellent success in treating migraines and TMJ, often an associated problem.

Beverly
is an engaging public speaker and loves to write. She is currently completing a book on Chinese medicine and PTSD and she is a regular contributor to Outlooks magazine. Her general practice offers a supportive clinic environment for all members of our community.
